Throughout the 70s and 80s, there was a photographer whose work made Biei known to the world. Without him, this town may never have come to be known as a beautiful tourist spot.
His name was Shinzo Maeda.
This year, Shinzo Maeda would have turned 100. To celebrate this special date, a special commemorative photo exhibition will be held from June 3rd, his birthday, at bi.yell community centre and the Takushinkan Gallery.
